- An Ounce Of Prevention (Oz)
- Fast-Start Guide: If You HATE to Read Manuals
-
-
- If you are an experienced DOS user, you may be able to put An Ounce Of
- Prevention (Oz) to use without reading more than this short guide.
-
- Nevertheless, many of Oz's features are not obvious and we want you to know all
- that it can do for you. So we urge you: please take the time to read the first
- chapter of the manual, at least.
-
- The Oz system comprises two main programs:
-
- OZRES.EXE a memory-resident program that protects your files.
- OZUTIL.EXE a utility program that restores deleted files, etc.
-
- If you wish, you may install Oz by following the prompts on the Oz Installer
- program, INSTALL.EXE. The Installer will:
-
- Copy the Oz files to a directory of your choice.
- Ask which of Oz's memory-resident features you wish to install.
- Create an Oz command line in your AUTOEXEC or AUTOUSER file.
-
- The Installer includes enough help text to explain these processes to an
- experienced PC user. The command line for OzRes may, however, appear rather
- cryptic unless you read Chapter 3 of the Manual, "Installing Oz By Hand."
-
- Oz Demonstration System - Oz's utility program OzUtil gives you you the
- opportunity to see a demonstration of Oz's operation. OzUtil is discussed in
- Chapter 4.
-
- Once again, we suggest that you take the time to: Read the Manual!
